Arakanese Indigenous Girl Killed by Myanmar Army’s Gun Fire in Marm Fone, Rathedaung Township

An Arakanese indigenous young girl named Ma Yee Yee Soe (19) daughter of Maung Twan Hla was killed during the fighting between one of Arakanese revolutionary groups Arakan Army (AA) the military wing of United United League of Arakan (ULA) at around 10:30 AM on February 20, 2019 at Marm Fone village under the Rathedaung township of northern Arakan/Rakhine state, western Burma/Myanmar. A villager from Marm Fone village told AASYC in the condition of anonymity that the victim’s Ma Yee Yee Soe died in the spot after she was hit by bullet at her head when Myanmar Army (Tatmataw) opened gun fires into the village . However , the villager could not able to identified the name of the Myanmar Army battalion.
